Alicia Rayner

Alicia completed her undergraduate physiotherapy degree at Curtin University in Perth before completing Musculoskeletal and Sports Masters degrees in Melbourne. She worked for Melbourne Stars Big Bash, Melbourne University AON Women’s 7’s rugby team and various state and national teams, including attending the Commonwealth Games in 2018.
Alicia taught on spinal, pelvis, shoulder and sports course for graduate physiotherapists, while also supervising many Masters physiotherapy students and presenting at La Trobe University to both undergraduate and postgraduate students.

Alicia returned home to rural Western Australia in 2018, undertaking the Specialisation program in April 2020. While completing this program, she worked for University of WA in Geraldton as the Physiotherapy coordinator teaching final-year physio students. At the same time, Alicia worked in Carnamah in private practice, completed research and presented physiotherapy education throughout WA and Victoria.

This extreme of working in remote Western Australia, with an indigenous and high-risk population, compared to working in elite sport, provides a unique perspective. Alicia is all too aware of working with limited resources and poor access to medical facilities while also having to get the person back to their optimum performance as quickly as possible.

Alicia is currently consulting at City Baths Spinal & Sports Medicine Clinic in Melbourne.
