Michael is a Specialist Sports & Excercise physiotherapist (awarded by Australian College of Physiotherapists 2009),with a special interest in lower limb injuries, specifically the Knee.
He has over 30 years experience in treating spinal and sports injuries.
He established the City Baths Spinal and Sports Medicine Clinic in 1991 in the Melbourne CBD and the Energize Physiotherapy and Clinical Pilates studio in 1995, now located in Oakleigh.
Michael graduated as a physiotherapist in 1986. He has a B.Sc. degree in Human Movement Studies as well as Physiotherapy which he finds is an invaluable knowledge resource for treating both spinal and sports injuries and understanding the requirements for optimal rehabilitation protocols.
He was a physiotherapist at St. Kilda Football Club for 14 years ( from 1991 to 2005 ) and has travelled extensively with representative teams including Australia (International Rules vs Ireland 2003 ,2004, 2005), the Dream Team and the Indigenous All Stars.
Michael has a special interest in treating knee and lower limb injuries. He regularly lectures in Australia and internationally in this area, having presented at conferences for Sports Medicine Australia and the Australian Physiotherapy Association, as well as private courses in China and Europe.
